American artist Daniel Bouthot (b. 1982 Maine) creates large and small scale, site-based sculptures that have been exhibited in a variety of locations including galleries, sculpture parks, libraries, and even a cemetery. Working without a studio, he maintains a transient art practice traveling often to New York, throughout the northeast, and most recently to Minneapolis to do projects. He has shown at venues including The Soap Factory and Franconia Sculpture Park in Minnesota, Paper Circle Gallery in Ohio, and internationally at the Palazzetto Cenci in Rome and the Palazzo dei Consoli in Gubbio, Italy. He currently makes his home on the coast of Maine where in addition to producing his own art he also works for the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and teaches at George Stevens Academy, a private high school in Blue Hill, Maine. He received his B.F.A. in Printmaking with a concentration in Art History from the Rhode Island School of Design.
